在论坛上发帖子是很多人上网必做的一件事情。但是如何用英语说“发帖子”呢？例如这样一句话“你可以在这个论坛上用英语发帖子。”翻译成英语应该是什么呢？
“帖子”原指“请贴”，是邀请客人的通知，英语可翻译为“invitation card”或“invitation”。例如“To celebrate the anniversary of his son’s birthday, he sent invitation cards to his relatives and friends.”（为庆祝儿子周岁生日，他发帖子给亲戚朋友。）而现在“发帖子”已经成为网络语言，专指在网络论坛上就一个主题发表意见，展开讨论。英语可翻译为“open/post a new topic”。例如：
You can’t open a new topic unless you are logged in.（如果你不登录，你就不能发帖子。）
She posted a new topic on this forum and many others, calling on the whole society to show concern for the benefits of the social vulnerable groups.（她在这个论坛上和许多别的论坛上广发帖子，呼吁全社会关注弱势群体的利益。）
“看帖子”或“查帖子”是查看一个主题帖发表的各种看法，英语可以翻译为“view a topic”或“read a thread”。例如：
This morning I read a thread about how to learn English at a university forum.（今天早上我在一个大学论坛上看了关于如何学习英语的帖子。）
If you want to view current topics on this forum, you don’t have to make a registration. （如果你想在论坛上看已有的帖子，你就不需要注册。）
“回帖子”或“跟帖子”指回应已有的主题帖，发表自己的看法，英语可翻译为“reply a topic”。例如：
I taught my father how to reply a topic.（我教爸爸如何回帖子。）
所以原句应该翻译为You may open/post a topic in English on the forum.。
